Tuesday at home

Some days it literally feels like a circus around these parts.  So when it came time to decide on a theme for Kage's 3rd birthday, combined with his love of animals and games, creating a mini circus was the best option.

Kage's Nana made the caramel apples, cotton candy cones, and cake pops+cake.  Along with help from an aunt and uncle.  He is one lucky guy, everything was a labor of love.{they have burns to prove it}

His auntie Auggie made his sign for the door, loving how it turned out.  I made the creepy "clown" veggie tray, I swear it looked cuter on pinterest....dang it.

No circus is complete with out being completely sugared up.  We also had popcorn and hot dogs.

We almost passed on a bounce house, thank goodness they could jump to their little hearts content.  Between that and swimming for hours, our gaggle was out for the count.

For those of you with eagle eyes, yes, we finally painted our walls...no more greige, full on light gray/white.

Tuesday at home

We upgraded my phone a few months ago, which meant backing up all the photos...including some goodies from when Kage was teeny tiny. #ohhellobabyfever #quickstealmeababy or is that frowned upon these days?

In design news around our home, Joshy bobby has agreed to build me some built ins for our kitchen eating situation. I couldn't be more thrilled. Of course it will open a whole can of worms, like needing a new table, moving our chandy over a tad bit, possibly new chairs and having to rethink the rug I had already picked out. But, it's more than worth it.

Bowchicawowow, right?  Hoping our gaggle can fit at a smaller round table, loving the idea of intimate meals bumping elbows.  In our home, family dinner is a big deal.  Unless Josh is working late, theres gymnastics or sports practice, we are all there together.  Sometimes, its really the only time we can actually sit down for a moment together.  One thing we've been doing the last 2 years, is the peak and pit.  It's where we talk about highs and lows of the day.  Its really gotten our bigs talking, instead of the usual convo:
how was school?
fine.
What did you do?
nothing.

Anyhoo, I'm sure I'll show updates of the project, when it finally begins.  We have a few trips this summer, on top of new tile for 2 bathrooms and hopefully kitchen counter tops {pleeeeeease JB!  baby wants those counter tops real bad!}, so it could be a while before it actually starts.  Bare with me loves!

Tuesday at my home

Whilst I should be preparing for our yard sale this weekend {boring}, I've decided to have some fun on my new app A Beautiful Mess. Have you heard of it? Which is your favorite enhancement?

Here are a few of mine...literally could be on it all day.

It has been project central around these parts. Thank goodness 2 of our bigs are done and the last only has a few more finishing touches. No one told me how hard it would be school wise having 3 kids in back to back grades. Beyond grateful they are all smart and pretty dang creative.

Ok, back to work....If I wasn't attempting to fund a re-upholstery job, I would just put everything out with a free sign.  dang it.

Tuesday at my home...

I know what you're thinking....and you're right, it's been ages since I shared anything with you in regards to my home. I'm starting to think I may have too many things going on all at once. Yikes!

Loving our Moroccan wedding blanket. It's the perfect amount of glam for the end of our bed.

Over the weekend I got around to spraying our little bistro set. Nothing like a fresh coat of glossy black. I also sprayed a metal wall ornament to put above. My hubby hasn't had a chance to put it up yet though....

Here's a sneak peek of another spraying project and my office's new pink walls....too many projects at one, right?

All this while the exterior of our house was being painted and flooring done. Slowly it will be put back together. I must admit, it's actually been fun rearranging and purging on the process. We definitely have too much stuff. Not hoarder status by any means, but more than we need.

Once we select/install our baseboard, I'll be sure to share some pics.

Loves!

Tuesday at my home....

In all honesty, cause we like to keep it real here....I'm a bit over my head with all the projects going on at once.  Not sure why I can't seem to pick one project to start and finish, guess I like the challenge?  Really all that's happening is nothing is getting done whatsoever, YIKES!!  Since nothing is getting done, I don't really have anything to show you...sorry dolls.

One project that has been in process for about 3 weeks {it takes time to grow new grass in AZ}, is our front and backyard.  There really is something to be said for curb appeal.  Lucky enough for us, while Papa and Gma were visiting from WA, they helped jump start the yard with us.  Since its definitely not picture ready...I leave you with a few outdoor spaces that have me drooling.  You may have noticed my frenzy if you follow me on pinterest.

Ok, you caught me.  At this time we really are just focusing on summer grass and a few new plants, but at least it does brighten things up a bit.  Can't help but envy those fabulous outdoor spaces.  Checkerboard patio?  Yes please!!

Tuesday at my home...

In addition to purging...like ridiculous amounts of purging and still sooooo much more to go, we snatched up this table and chairs set.  I know, curse these awful pics...they are from the CL post, as we haven't had a chance to snap a few yet.  I know what you're thinking...wasn't I just talking about collecting chairs to have a medley of mixed chairs...yes, yes I was/am.  Indecisive much?

Those of you that have been following, are well aware of my addition to bamboo furniture.  I've been dying to get my hands on some chairs for some time now.  These aren't exactly what I had in mind, but the price was right, and once I add this fabric that I found after Erin from Clementine and Olive {thanks doll} shared this fab fabric source.

Thinking bright shiny white and that charcoal fabric will make these the set I want.  That's the table base...in case you're wondering and it has a glass top.  Not dead set on it, but willing to give it a try, if not, I have another table in the garage on reserve.  Who does that?  This girl.

How's this for some perrrrfect inspiration?  swoon

Any one else in a frenzy like myself at the moment?  Just me?

Tuesday at my home...

When we purchased our house, several doors had been previously damaged. Slowly one by one we are replacing them all in addition to other projects. Two weekends ago, we finally picked up a pantry door {not having one has been my worst nightmare with a toddler}. The kids have been dying for a chalkboard, so I picked up some trusty rustoleum spray paint and went to work. So far, it's been a blast. Can't wait to utilize it for those bday favorites I've seen on pinterest. So adorbs.

Tuesday at my home...

We purchased these west elm lamps {on sale} almost a month ago...and somehow just got around to setting them up...it couldn't possibly be due to the fact I needed to paint the end tables, could it?  And you know I couldn't add them to the before, it would just ruin it, I had to wait till they were glammed up a bit.

Much better, right?

This is Kage's favorite napping spot at the moment.  I promise I usually make my bed, but with him sleeping, this was a rare opportunity to snap a few photos to share of our little changes.

Tuesday at my home

Short and sweet today (most days it feels like now, sorry about that!). Over the weekend I was able to stroll through GW briefly, but I'll take what I can get. I happened to stumble upon these fabulous vintage school chairs. At under $9 for 2, it was love at first sight. Kage also loves them. They dot quite have a hope specifically yet, but they are currently in our living room.

Tuesday at home....sneak peek

Over the weekend I was finally able to pick up and frame the fabulous LOVE print Josh got me from Jen @ madebygirl and the Paris print my dad and step mom got me in Paris (luckies!!). I must say, I love what they add to my little work space. I can't decide if I'm going to hang the little Eiffel tower print or leave it as is....thoughts? Our office/multipurpose room is far from done, but it's coming together nicely. Can't wait to finally reveal it!!

Tuesday at my home...

There have been some small updates in our entry way.....thought it was about time to share those.  Especially since we finally have an amazing camera (to us).  Please tell me you are way impressed with the picture quality, compared to my embarrassing iPhone pics.  Or at least make me feel better and say they are....mmmkay?

Since Joshy Bobby and I suck have a hard time locating keys, these fab clearanced hooks from Anthro were a no brainer in my book.

Spotted this GW mirror for 25 cents....yahtzee!

I also added 2 mirrors all the way to the left (long skinny rectangle and top chunkier rectangle, fab description, right?)

The old dresser ended up finding its way into our eldest sons room, which leaves only 3 rooms in the house it hasn't lived in yet.  It was replaced with this fab textured 4 drawer console type thing from ZGallerie (that we've had forever).

I love how this turned out....but, sometimes I feel like the left side belongs in a bathroom.  Thoughts?

We scooped up these lockers prob almost a year ago....couldn't decide if I should paint them or leave them as is, so a few months ago, we decided to just try them out.  So far, they are so ridiculously useful for our 3 school age kids, I'm kicking myself for not moving them in immegiately.

You can check out the other entry way pictures here.  Trust me, its not pretty.
