14 days of Blogosphere Love!!! When Pink meets Red

Hello lovers!!  {and new lovers visiting}  For probably about 6 months now, I've been obsessed with red and pink combinations.  If you would have asked me a few years ago, I would have said ew gross, but now I just can't get enough (am I the only one that instantly sung that 80s song in my head?).  Anyhooo,  I promised a feast of the eyes and I plan on delivering some of my favorites.

I could go on and on about how much I'm loving this combo, but it would probably bore you to death.  If you weren't as excited as I am about it, did the Hermes throw change your mind?  Baby wants that, real bad.  But I think no matter how much whining, crying and pleading, Joshy Bobby will still say no once he sees the price tag.  What if I promise it will count as my Valentines day present till we're 60?  Seems fair to me.

Every day is a day of mushy love in our house, but we don't hesitate to take Vday over the top and to a whole new level.  We kicked off the celebration a little early, on Friday actually, with the 3rd annual Vday dance at the littles elementary school {check out the photo above....hilarious}.  Ridiculous amounts of fun of course.  Thank goodness we are still cool in there eyes and not an embarrassment {fingers crossed that never happens}.  Date night with Joshy Bobby Saturday was cancelled, since he was under the weather.  Then for the big day, we plan on heart shaped pancakes and a delish dinner.  All together, one big cheesy family.....just the way we like it.

Here's me loving some pink and red.

Thanks for stopping by.  Make it a great week!!!

Buffet L.O.V.E.

Recently I've been going crazy moving things from one room to another in my home.  Whats new?  With that said, I placed a different buffet in our foyer....its a beauty, but a fixer for sure.  At $9 at GW, it was a steal.  Right now it has no legs...so it is quite short....and I'm thinking it needs a paint job.  In trolling the internet for inspiration, I came across these:

The Way We Are

Yum!  I'm in a frenzy and am having an even harder time deciding on a color.  I must say, my stomach does a flip flop looking at the gorg green buffet at The way we are.  Sigh....decisions decisions.

Mint freshness....

....Is exactly what comes to mind when I see these rooms.  I've never been a fan of pastel in general, especially walls, however, after these, I may be singing a different tune.  Loving the mint with gold combo.  Delish!!!

Orangetastic!!!

I can't help it, orange is one of my favorite colors these days.

dramatic padded bedroom wall

I want that lamp...thank you!  I haven't really been bold enough to paint walls such a bright color, but our youngest has plenty of orange accents in his room.  The white bedding (my fav) perfectly offsets and tones down the bright walls, and lets be honest, you can never have enough pillows.  Plus, who doesn't want an LV briefcase?

You're my boy, Blue!!!!

While browsing pictures looking for color inspiration for my bedroom makeover, I came across these lovely blue accented rooms.  Definitely has me thinking blue might be a winner.

bold colors blend with recycled bedroom furniture

organic and serene describe guest room ambience

One thing for sure....a padded headboard is must!  Hopefully in a plush velvet.

Whimsical white

romantic bedroom retreat

If its one thing I love....its designing in all white.  There are a few reasons I'm drawn to this room, the first being the collection on the nightstand, perfectly lined up on display.  Inspires me to make the most of every space.  Of course, the fireplace, if I had it my way, there would be one in every room in my house.  Last but not least, the chairs.  They remind of the wingbacks at my great grandmothers house I loved to curl up in.  I have come across several on Craigslist....I just might have to pick one up and give it new life.

Think Pink!!!

With Valentine's day less than a month away, I'm overwhelmed by all the amazingly romantical pink rooms I've come across.  I haven't had a pink room since I was 12....but seeing these have me thinking pink.

The striped theme, dark flooring and wainscoting is delish!  I have never seen a settee like this, I can't stop staring at it.....mentally added to the list of things to look for.

I love the watermelon, white and black color palate.  Perfectly accessorized with a refurbished table and chair, with a fabulously gigantic shell.

I know what you're thinking, too much pink?  Never!  Chocolate brown is the perfect color to help anchor the room, not to mention the simle white fireplace.

I can't get enough of this perfectly put together room.  I was just looking on Amazon yesterday at mirrored furniture, drooling of course.  Another settee to love also!!
Perfect way to spice up a calming white and gray room?  A splash of pink!

Mustard yellow...how you doin'?

Maybe I'm dreaming of hot summer days..but yellow has been running through my mind a lot these days.

I have about a million throw pillows on my couch, what can I say, the more you have the more comfortable to lounge on?  I usually find unique pillows at Target, Marshalls, World Market, and West Elm.  Sometimes I'll get lucky at a thrift store also.

guest room has versatile furnishings
The daybed style of this couch is perfect along with the printed pillows and chic curtains.

I never thought I would actually want to paint my wall yellow, but after this, I almost want to make a trip to Home Depot!  Maybe its the combination of books, mini desk or the black and white picture frame collage....I could stare at this all day.

Evidently one of my favorite color combinations right now is yellow, black and white.

unique furnishings in custom bedroom
I really like the idea of throwing a simple yellow blanket to change the look and feel of a bedroom completely, plus, it is an inexpensive way to make updates.
