Tuesday at home

We upgraded my phone a few months ago, which meant backing up all the photos...including some goodies from when Kage was teeny tiny. #ohhellobabyfever #quickstealmeababy or is that frowned upon these days?

In design news around our home, Joshy bobby has agreed to build me some built ins for our kitchen eating situation. I couldn't be more thrilled. Of course it will open a whole can of worms, like needing a new table, moving our chandy over a tad bit, possibly new chairs and having to rethink the rug I had already picked out. But, it's more than worth it.

Bowchicawowow, right?  Hoping our gaggle can fit at a smaller round table, loving the idea of intimate meals bumping elbows.  In our home, family dinner is a big deal.  Unless Josh is working late, theres gymnastics or sports practice, we are all there together.  Sometimes, its really the only time we can actually sit down for a moment together.  One thing we've been doing the last 2 years, is the peak and pit.  It's where we talk about highs and lows of the day.  Its really gotten our bigs talking, instead of the usual convo:
how was school?
fine.
What did you do?
nothing.

Anyhoo, I'm sure I'll show updates of the project, when it finally begins.  We have a few trips this summer, on top of new tile for 2 bathrooms and hopefully kitchen counter tops {pleeeeeease JB!  baby wants those counter tops real bad!}, so it could be a while before it actually starts.  Bare with me loves!

Happy Monday!!!

Shut the front door, am I the last one to hear about Ikea's new mirrored malm dresser?  Technically it says its not mirror...but foil.  I think I need to see this thing in person...like yesterday.

I picture it being the perfect center for my girls twin beds in their new room they happen to be sharing.  I can't get over how much I love the symmetry of 2 side by side.  Totally normal, right?

Super inspired by this space.  I'm like a broken record when it comes to wallpaper.  Dying to wallpaper something....anything really, just give me some right meow!!!  And me thinks the head board can't be that hard to recreate DIY style.

Have any of you been to Ikea recently?

paint dreaming....

I've been seriously considering repainting almost every room in our home....starting with the living/dining area.  In the past, I usually thought white was more on the boring side, or reserved for when renting.  However, the past year, I've been gravitating towards the calm clean feeling of bright white.  In fact, I would have a white couch, if I wasn't the proud mama of our gaggle.

Here are a few spaces that have me green with envy.

Swoon right?  And even though each space feels different, I would happily live in any of them.  Glam, boho, shabby chic, vintage, you name it, I wants it.  Excuse me whilst I beg Joshy Bobby to let me repaint everything.

P.S.  Today is our daughter, Maddie's 10th birthday!!!  I can hardly believe she is in the double digits already.  We are so proud of the amazing person she is and her kind heart.  Love you Maddie!!!!

mismatched dining chairs....

wack or fabulous?  Our dining room is in desperate need of some attention....I already sold the parsons chairs a few months ago.  I'm loving the eclectic mix of chair in all the spaces and am slowly collecting some for our dining room.  Maybe its the whimsical feel it brings, not allowing life to be so stuffy.  My one question is, should I paint them all the same color, or should I truly mix it up and not really have them necessarily match.  Let me know your thoughts, I promise I'll make you a friendship bracelet, paint your nails, and watch whatever girly movie...your choice!

Kiddie rooms

With our youngest turning 18 months this Thursday....I can't help but starting planning in my head what his kiddie room should look like.  One thing is for sure....mama will be making him an upholstered headboard.

Pinned Image
I am swooning over the fabric mixing in this photo.  The headboard is to die, right?

I'm also toying with the idea of putting 2 twin beds in his room, you know, for all the sleep overs he will be having with his friends.

Delish combo of orange and blue, definitely one of my all time favs.  I still remember being in art class making mosaics with this specific color combo.

nail head trim=glorious.

Couldn't leave out another combo I can't get enough of, emerald and mustard.  The shape of the headboard and the Dwell studio trellis pillow gets me every time!

Kage is still sleeping in his crib....and honestly, until he is too tall or can monkey climb out like his sister, I plan on keeping it that way.  But there is no harm in getting a jump start, right?

For all you mama's out there, what age did you transition?

Dinner time!

Even though I already have about a million things on my to-do list and multiple projects under way, I can't help but gravitate toward photos of dining spaces.  This is one I can't seem to take my eyes off of.  Loving the mix of traditional and modern pieces.  I wouldn't normally pair a modern table with those fabulous striped chairs, but after seeing this, I'm considering doing just that.

Just a quick pic today..
These delish side tables have me thinking I might need to swap out my wooden ones for brass and glass.  Not to mention I'm loving the tufting on the sofa.

Nursery a 'la mode

With the Monkey Butt Baby Clothing giveaway in full swing.....I thought, what better time to share one of my favorite nurseries of all time than right now on this very day?

To put it lightly, I'm addicted to a' la mode....Shelli's blog was one of the first I added to my daily reads.  Not to mention, I was able to nab a fab lampshade through one of her giveaways.  :)

Anyhoooo, here are her daughter's digs:

Fabulous, right?  Perfect combination of patterns and textures.  Check out the rest of her home here.  It won't disappoint.

Can I move in with Keri Russell?

I just can't get over how gorgeous her home is.  Maybe it's the white living room I've always dreamed about, complete with the ochre chandelier, fireplace, windows and piles of books.  Or could it be the delicious shelving specifically for shoes in her closet?

Either way, this is one home I come back to often.  Obsessed.

Mint freshness....

....Is exactly what comes to mind when I see these rooms.  I've never been a fan of pastel in general, especially walls, however, after these, I may be singing a different tune.  Loving the mint with gold combo.  Delish!!!

whats up?

Painted ceilings!!!!  Or the 5th wall as some call it.  After seeing these pics...I'm completely smitten....my imagination is already running wild.  Which ceiling in my house should I paint first?   Who cares if I haven't finished the shelves or baseboards?

frickin' foyer

Evidently I'm having a hard time just focusing on one room these days.  I did however just scoop up 2 shelves on CL a few days ago....(with the help of my friend Amber...her truck, and her muscles, thanks doll!!!), that are destined to be in our office/multipurpose room.  Huge plans to paint this weekend.  Hoping I can make it through my every growing "to do list".

But, after coming across this foyer, I can't wait to begin transitioning ours from something blah, to oh so fab!  I have to admit, its pretty drab....I don't even want to share pics.  Ew.  I'm not quite brave enough to paint a smaller space dark...but I have been considering it in my bedroom.  I seriously can't get enough of these picture frames and that sweet mirror...can I just marry them already?  One thing on my list for sure:  spectac rug....I'm thinking Overstock or West Elm.
