Tuesday at home

We upgraded my phone a few months ago, which meant backing up all the photos...including some goodies from when Kage was teeny tiny. #ohhellobabyfever #quickstealmeababy or is that frowned upon these days?

In design news around our home, Joshy bobby has agreed to build me some built ins for our kitchen eating situation. I couldn't be more thrilled. Of course it will open a whole can of worms, like needing a new table, moving our chandy over a tad bit, possibly new chairs and having to rethink the rug I had already picked out. But, it's more than worth it.

Bowchicawowow, right?  Hoping our gaggle can fit at a smaller round table, loving the idea of intimate meals bumping elbows.  In our home, family dinner is a big deal.  Unless Josh is working late, theres gymnastics or sports practice, we are all there together.  Sometimes, its really the only time we can actually sit down for a moment together.  One thing we've been doing the last 2 years, is the peak and pit.  It's where we talk about highs and lows of the day.  Its really gotten our bigs talking, instead of the usual convo:
how was school?
fine.
What did you do?
nothing.

Anyhoo, I'm sure I'll show updates of the project, when it finally begins.  We have a few trips this summer, on top of new tile for 2 bathrooms and hopefully kitchen counter tops {pleeeeeease JB!  baby wants those counter tops real bad!}, so it could be a while before it actually starts.  Bare with me loves!

In the kitch....

So our home is constantly changing....especially with purchases and selling/donating items.  We sold our bar stools about 4 months ago....and at first I wasn't too keen on adding any, as I didn't want the space to feel too cluttered.  Since then, I've decided how inconvenient it really is with out them and how much we actually utilized them, especially whilst entertaining.  This is where you come in.  I'm having a really had time deciding...industrial metal vs. glam Hollywood lucite.

This is probably one of my most favorite kitchens of all time.  Especially those amazing hicks pendants.  Unfortunately they aren't in the budget at this time.

These dark floors, bright walls and stools have my heart skipping a beat.

Loving the Wearstler wallpaper, marble waterfall edge {you will be mine, oh yes, you will be mine.  one day}, and of course those stools!!!

And then on the other end of the spectrum.....

Seriously, the pendants are ridic amazing.  I'd love to add those to my home also!

Or these ones with the back might be a little more comfy....if thats even possible with a metal stool.

I found these Baxton Studio LIANA Acrylic Stool Set of 2 for a pretty decent price on amazon.

And then there is the Cargo Stool from World Market...however they don't have the size I need online...and all the local stores are sold out.  But they said they can attempt to get some in just for me.

I know they are almost total opposites...but I truly can't decide.  Does anyone have lucite/acrylic stools?  We are lucky enough to have a gaggle of 4 children....are the acrylic stools a horrible idea?  Will they hold up?

Gray kitchen cabs part 2:

You may remember my post from last week....we painted the lower half of our cabinets...well over the weekend, we were busy little bees tackling the top half.

Here are some before pictures, so long ugly cabinets:

Here are just 2 pics I quickly snapped, still a bunch of touch up to be done...and I have to paint the underneath...can't stand how they look without being white.  But all and all, a very successful and cost effective Kitchen makeover!!!

We did it!!! Well, half way....

The bottom cabinets are officially a blueish/gray...and so far we frickin love it!  However, I realized my before pics super suck...I'll have to find some of the house when we first purchased it a year ago.

Some might say...oh those cabinets look good...or ok...but I just had a hard time feeling like it was my kitchen, ya know?

Please excuse the mess, definitely wasn't thinking of cleaning while the project was under way.

Yes, it was a family affair, that is our youngest Olivia sanding away.  Its not child labor if they want to help, is it?  That's my babe.  He did all the sanding once Olivia ran off to play.

There is no turning back now!  Gasp.  Well, there could be, but why go back now?

Before the cupboards made their way back on...I thought I'd snap a shot.

You may be wondering why I am saving jars...who needs all those?  You'll see once I complete that project.

Ahhhh, now that is more like it!!!  We finished the project in just 2 days, you heard me right.  Just 2....well, the bottom half that is.  This weekend we plan on painting the top half white, I'll let you know how it goes!

xoxo,

Patience
